Hướng nghiên cứu chính hiện nay:

- Phân tích kinh tế các hệ thống sản xuất nông nghiệp và nông lâm kết hợp.

- Phân tích kinh tế xã hội và chính sách quản lý tài nguyên thiên nhiên, sx nông nghiệp bền vững khu vực Đông Nam Á và vùng cao Việt Nam.

- Đánh giá tác động kinh tế xã hội và sinh kế của cơ chế chi trả dịch vụ mội trường; Định giá trị kinh tế tài nguyên môi trường, hệ sinh thái rừng đầu nguồn, đất ngập nước.

- Phân tích kinh tế môi trường và an toàn thực phẩm.
