Introduction
Department of Rural Development is belong to the Economics Faculty of Nong Lam University, HCM City. Since 2000, the Department had contributed with the Economics Faculty to train the first batch of undergraduate students in Vietnam about Rural Development Major. Up to now, in 2019, the department has been training 18 courses (regular batches) and 8 training batches in Lam Dong, Ba Ria Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Ben Tre, Long An Province and Ho Chi Minh City. The number of graduates in this program is over 1400 people.
Academic program
This program is designed to create the bachelor in rural development for responding the need of the high quality human resources, they can work in rural development program both in coordinating, technology transfers, science research, socio-economic management, agricultural and rural development.
When completed this program, students will achieve program objectives as following:
- Applying basic knowledge and specialized knowledge in rural development, in which students are equipped and able to apply the theory of development, economic and management to explain and analyze the theoretical and practical issues relating to agricultural and rural development aspects.
- Achieve knowledge and ability to coordinate in the transferring activities of science and technology, project formulation and management, socio-economic assessment, community development planning, problem analysis and propose solutions for economic development of production units and advise the social organizations in the management and rural development.
- Good communication skills, community experience, interdisciplinary teamwork skills, independent research ability, applying information technology and English language in work.
- Highly responsibility in task, professional morality, desire to broaden knowledge, learning and enhancing the professional levels
