Introduction To Rural Development Programme
1.1 Training objectives
- General objectives
The Rural Development Program creates a bachelor of rural development major to fulfill the needs of qualified human resources for rural development sector, both in coordination and transfer technology, scientific research, socio-economic management, and rural development.
- Specific objectives: Rural development majorwill supportstudents with knowledge and skills such as:
PO1:Applying basic knowledge and specialization in rural development, in which students are equipped and able to apply into practice groups of development theory, economic theory and management to explain and analyze theoretical and practical issues in the field of agricultural and rural development.
PO2:Having knowledge and ability to coordinate in science and transfer technology, project formulation and management, socio-economic assessment, community development planning, problem analysis and propose the solutions for production units and advise to social agencies/organizations in management and rural development.
PO3:Having the communication skills, working with community, working skills in interdisciplinary team, independent research ability, using information technology and English in work.
PO4:Having a high responsibility, professional ethics, learning spirits, always learning and improving professional quality forever.
1.2 Program Learning Outcomes
In order to achieve the above specific objectives, after finished this program, students need to achieve the learning outcomes including: knowledge, skills and attitudes.
1.2.1 Knowledges
General knowledges
PLO1: Understand and apply basic knowledge of nature, society, economic theory, development theory, political theory and scientific knowledge into real life and professional activities.
Professional knowledges
PLO2: Applying the professional knowledge to approach, identify, and analyze problems, planning, management projects, planningdevelopment and organize the implementation of economic development, and rural developmentmanagement
PLO3:Analyze the local socio-economic situation, agricultural production activities of units, coordinate and evaluate the activities of science and technology transfers, social change rural analysis and comments the rural development solutions.
1.2.2 Skills
General Skills
PLO4: Applying communication skills, independent working skills, working skills with community or interdisciplinary experts
PLO5: Using office IT, English language to read, understand and translate documents to improve knowledge and apply them in practices.
Professional Skills
PLO6: Using well the tools for group discussion,information searching, surveys, integrated analysis and evaluation of issues related to agriculture and rural areas.
PLO7: Mastering statistical softwareto analyze socio-economic data, project management software to support professional and research activities.
